Our mission

The Clanton Church of Christ exists to share the gospel of Jesus Christ in order that people are drawn by his love, saved by His grace, changed by His power, and committed to His ministry.

Our Worship

While we are a diverse group, we understand that our opinions, traditions and personal wishes may need to be set aside.  We seek God's wisdom in all we do and stress Biblical truth as our standard.  We want this church to be a house of prayer.

Our worship seeks to connect us to God.  We are guided by the biblical mandate to worship God "in Spirit and truth." John 4:24.  We offer our worship to God as being genuine and Biblical.

Our Direction

The Bible serves as our only creed.  Every value is a principle we hold as a congregation to be Biblical.

These core values express who we are and who we desire to become.  They clarify the:

Biblical truth is our standard and we strive to communicate it in relevant terms.

We seek to accomplish the Lord's will by prayer and devotion to Christ.

God's love compels us toward evangelism and compassionate service.

Christians build us the church through ministry and relationships.

God's grace saves us, motivates us, and brings us together.

Strong families are God's basic means of instilling faith, hope and love.

Genuine fellowship builds relationships, strengthens faith, hope and love.

Every member shares the responsibility for mutual respect and joyful cooperation.

Our Beliefs

God exists as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Spirit.  He is creator, designer, and King of our universe.

Jesus Christ is the Son of God.  He lived on this earth as taught in the four New Testament Gospels.  He, without sin, died on the cross to serve as a sacrifice for our sins.  He arose from the dead and ascended into Heaven.  He will come again.  Only through Christ do we have redemption.

The Holy Spirit is both living and active in every Christian.  He is God, the Father's gift to every believer.  He comforts us, guides us and intercedes for us in our prayers.

The Bible was written by the direct inspiration of the Holy Spirit and is God's book to be studied, reverenced and obeyed.  It alone serves as the source of our beliefs.

Salvation is God's free gift to those who accept Christ and are obedient to His will.  Complete submission to God's will is essential to becoming a Christian.

The Church is a family of believers redeemed by Christ's blood.  It includes all those who have accepted the invitation of Christ to be a part of His Kingdom.

Be baptized as a demonstration in our belief in Christ for the forgiveness of sins (Acts 2:38; Acts 8:36-39; Acts 9:18-19, Acts 10:47; I Peter 3:18-22).
